Whats Crack-A-Lacking?

So it has been rather quiet over in this corner of the world wide web lately; school is consuming a rather large part of our time… (sigh….) That is okay though, because we are now on February vacation! That means lots of cooking, as well as a future photo shoot, (crossing my fingers it does not rain) followed by a trip to a neighboring state to visit family, oh and wait, did I mention lots of cooking? 🙂

Here is just a tiny peak of the bright (and not so bright) ideas we have had so far this week… enjoy and come back soon for the full stories! (because they are totally worth knowing!)

Are you on winter break? If so, stay warm!

Outfit Número Dos

Today was one of those days that I am just reallllllyyyy missing spring. I asked my cute lil’ sis if i could borrow her extra cute scarf, and snap some pictures of me at the end of the day. So here we are now, with some semi- blurry pictures in the freezing cold, near an old wood pile.  Lovely. Anyways, one may ask, ” Ziggy, why did you wear cuffed up jeans, and a spring scarf during winter? Are you crazy?” The answer is no, i just have a theory! (Don’t laugh… Zola did when I told her this and I will never forgive her, well maybe i will…) I am going to attempt to confuse mother nature, I will start wearing spring-ish clothing and Mother Nature will be like, “Wait, why is that cute girl wearing spring clothes? It is still winter!” She will then think she forgot to change seasons because she was to busy watching me suffer in the cold.  She will change the seasons and I will be the happiest person ever!

I hope you join me in my plot against mother nature, or whoever controls the seasons! What happens to be your favorite season? I’m sure you can tell that mine is spring!

Happy Wednesday!!!

Just another day….

So I have made it my mission to take full advantage of the excessive amount of unworn clothing in my closet.  With that said, I did something I don’t normally do * drum roll please* I wore a shirt that is longer then ‘normal’.  A shirt that could actually be considered a tunic… Pretty fancy huh?  Normally I don’t wear long shirts because I am not exactly sure how I like them… But, I did it and everyone in school loved it!  It always feels really special to receive and give compliments.  Now remember as you take a look at this outfit I threw together, I am certainly not a fashion-y person but I do try to get creative every now and then 🙂

Happy Monday!

Like any other group of teenage friends, Zola and I get together to have sleepovers every now and then. Normally another friend joins us but she was M.I.A. this time. *cough Mishell cough* Anyways this past sleepover consisted of me staying up wayyyyyyy to late, Zola staying up even later (she is a night owl) and lots of laughing while brainstorming things to do and talk about on this good ol’blog. Any suggestions? And recipes you would like us to try out? Or projects? Or even challenges? Feel free to let us know- (we won’t bite ;))

Buncha pennies on a keychain

Up Up Must Have Been Lucky

We all stumble on that penny when walking through a store, or down a street. What if all those pennies are really lucky? This is part 1 of my penny project series. Today I paid my sister one quarter for her 24 pennies (i was ripped off…) and i took it upon myself to start the penny project.

I have a few penny projects that I will be completing over the next few weeks and here the first one!

You will need:

A metal letter stamp kit, like this one

Pennies, and lots of them

Drill with a 5/64 bit

Scrap wood (to place under the pennies as you drill, you don’t want any holes in your table)

Crafting Pliers (and split ring pliers)

6mm and 9mm split rings

1 Key chain

Step 1: Lay all of your pennies face up and pound the letters LUCKY into them. It took me a few practice pennies to figure our how i wanted the letters to be placed. I started the ‘L’ underneath the ‘liberty’ and swooped the letters down, following the shape of the penny which led me to finish on the date. I found it is easiest to do on concrete.

Step 2: Place the pennies on a piece of scrap wood, and drill one hole into the top of the penny, i tried to get as close to the edge as possible. Be careful because the metal scraps that come out of the penny may look like innocent silver spirals, but are actually weapons in disguise, waiting to cut you… ;(

Step 3: Loop a 6mm split ring into the holes of all of your pennies (I used 12 pennies for my key chain)

Step 4: Attach three of your pennies (the ones from step 3) onto a 9mm split ring. (you should have a total of 4 larger split rings with three pennies attached if you did it like me.)

Step 5: Attach the split rings from step four together. I placed empty split rings in between as spacers so it was not as bulky.

Step 6: Attach to a key chain 🙂

I hope those directions made sense, it takes time and patience to make this keychain, so choose a rainy day. 🙂

Stay tuned for more penny projects and the best of luck to you!

Friday Morning

Love waking up to the bright sun, I may be temporarily blinded, but I can't complain.
